Lisa Ackerman is one the founders of Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) TACA started in 2000 with 10 families in the Ackerman Huntington Beach living room and by May 2008 has grown to over 8,500 families across the U.S. TACA provides 95% program and services free to families affected by autism via 16 locations. TACA provide parent education, support and much needed programming to effectively navigate and locate necessary treatments for children affected by autism. TACA's main parent resource is a call and email center answered by families for families where hundreds and thousands of emails are answered every month.

Kevan is currently Vice President of OxyHeal Health Group in National City, California and Safety Director for North Austin Medical Center Hyperbaric Medicine based in Austin, Texas.

After 15 distinguished years in The United States Armed Forces, Kevan soon became involved in Hyperbaric Medicine and has held several positions as Program/Safety Director in education and medical centers.

He serves as a Board Member on numerous committees including The American College of Hyperbaric Medicine, The national Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technologist and the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society.

He is the co-author of several publications and abstracts.


Dr, Frederick S. CramerFrederick S. Cramer, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Cramer is a Board Certified General Surgeon who completed a twelve month Fellowship in Hyperbaric Medicine at the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine in 1980. He subsequently served as the Chief of Hyperbaric Medicine at the School from 1982-84. He has been active with the International Congress on Hyperbaric Medicine www.ichm.net, serving as the President of the 14th International Congress on Hyperbaric Medicine held in San Francisco in 2002 and as Secretary-Treasurer since 1988. . He is co-editor of the text Hyperbaric Oxygen Perioperative Care which was published in 2001. He is presently developing the San Francisco Institute for Hyperbaric Medicine www.sfhbo.com and is the Founder and Executive Director of the Institute. Dr. Cramer holds an academic appointment as an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of California San Francisco.


Jo Feingold M.D.

Known for her compassion and wisdom, Giuseppina Benincasa-Feingold. MD; is board-certified in pediatrics and specializes in treating patients with autism, cerebral palsy, lyme disease and stroke as well as other brain and medical disorders. In addition to working 15 years in pediatric emergency medicine, her extensive experience includes utilizing traditional and alternative therapies such as chelation, iv medications, sensory learning and hyperbaric medicine. She practices medicine primarily in Mahopac and Suffern, NY; Bloomfield, CT; while also hosting international clinics in Italy, Panama and Mexico.

Dr. Feingold is the former Associate Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Our Lady Medical Center and Assistant Director Pediatrics at Nyack Hospital. She did her fellowship in Pediatric Ambulatory Medicine and residency in Pediatrics at New York University Medical Center. She earned her Doctor of Medicine and Surgery Degree from the University of Perugia, Italy.


Thomas M. Fox MAS MS. CHT
Currently Research Physiologist at the Hyperbaric Institute for Research and Training Center, Hyperbare de LIle, Pincourt Qc., and Vice President for Operations and Training for the American Association for Hyperbaric Awareness, Tom Fox is a specialist on the effects of pressure from blasts or explosions on the body.

He holds a Masters in Aeronautical Science-Physiology and a Masters in Counseling and Psychology. Tom spent 12 years with Medical Service Corporation as an Aeromedical Evacuation Pilot. His last assignment was Chief of Atmospherics Branch US Army School of Aviation Medicine where he was an Instructor in Hypobaric Operations. Tom certifications include Commercial Instrument Rotary Wing License and a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist.


Gaudenzio Garozzo M.D.Gaudenzio Garozzo M.D.
Dr. Garozzo is Director and teacher of TCM at Ming Men School of Caserta, Italy and President of the Association Ming Men. He is also National Vice-President of the Institute Nguyen Van Nghi, a Member of the Supervisory committee and study on the acupuncture constituted from Order of the Medical Doctors of Caserta.

Dr. Garozzo is responsible for the relationship with China on behalf of the World Medical Association Acupuncture in his capacity as President and the Italian High Health Institute. In 1990, he was granted a degree from the triennial course of the School San Li of Rome in Traditional Chine Medicine and 3years later, a scholarship with the Association for the Traditional Chinese Pharmacotherapy dedicated to the knowledge of the Chinese Herbal Medicine. Born in Italy, Dr. Garozzo graduated with a degree in Medicine & Surgery from the Faculty Federico II of Naples, specializing in Orthopedic and Traumatology. He completed a Bachelor degree in the Endocrinology unit and is fluent in four languages: Italian, French, English and Chinese.


Charles Golden Ph.D

Dr, Charles Golden is a clinical neuropsychologist who graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1975.  He worked for eight years with Dr. Richard Neubauer evaluating the cognitive and behavioral changes which occur after HBOT in chronic brain injured children and adults. Dr. Golden has numerous publications and presentations in the area of cognitive improvements from HBOT as well as over 400 publications and presentations nationally and internationally in the areas of neuropsychology and assessment psychology.

In 1980, Julie Gordon founded and has been directing a non-profit organization, Mothers United for Moral Support, Inc. (MUMS). MUMS is a National Parent-to-Parent Network that provides families whose children have any disability, rare chromosomal abnormality, birth defect, or rare medical condition, an opportunity to be connected with other families whose children have the same or similar condition. MUMS offers families emotional support, information and a vehicle for networking and sharing ideas.

This unique organization spread internationally and now has over 22,500 families from 56 countries covering over 3500 conditions and includes 2500 professionals.

Dr. Paul HarchPaul G. Harch, M.D. (Authors Lunch)
Dr. Harch is a hyperbaric medicine, diving, and emergency medicine physician who is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hyperbaric Medicine and the Board of Certification in Emergency Medicine of the American Board of Physician Specialties.

Dr. Harch's clinical experience through 2007 spans 23 years in hospital-based emergency medicine and 21 years of hyperbaric medicine. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1980 and was awarded Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa status on graduation from college. He has trained in general surgery, radiology, diving, and hyperbaric medicine.

In recognition of his accomplishments in clinical practice, teaching, and research he was awarded fellowship status in the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine in 1997. He also received the Edgar End Award from the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine in 1994 and the Richard A. Currently in private practice in Arizona, Dr. Henricks completed her undergraduate education at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA, Dr. Henricks earned her medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. She remained at Hahnemann to perform her internal medicine internship and residency, and she served as chief resident. Dr. Henricks completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a fellowship in behavioral neurology at the University of Arizona, Tucson. In addition, she has participated in numerous research studies, including clinical trials for epilepsy drugs, neurophysiology studies, and memory research. In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Henricks also performs volunteer work, seeing patients at the Refugee Clinic, for the Arizona Children's Association, and working as a volunteer instructor at St. Andrews Crippled Children's Clinic. She also has taught seminars and appeared on TV and radio for the Migraine Awareness Program.

Dr. Philip B. James, M.D. Philip B. James, M.D.
Philip B. James, M.D. is Senior Lecturer in Occupational Medicine at the Wolfson Hyperbaric Medicine Unit in Scotland. Dr. James is an internationally know specialist in hyperbaric and diving medicine. He is medical consultant to 110 chambers in the UK originally treating multiple sclerosis and now, cerebral palsy and the brain injured child. Dr. James is responsible for founding the Hyperbaric Trust in the United Kingdom which promotes the treatment of cerebral palsy and the brain injured child and was responsible for having the National Health Service pay for this therapy.

He has lectured around the world and holds numerous appointments, is well know for work on the blood brain barrier, and has made many contributions to the treatment of decompression illness. Dr. James is indeed a high profile figure and will discuss the role of the blood brain barrier and also bring to light the tragic mistake on the discontinuance of surface oxygen for the premature baby because of the fear of retrolental fibroplasia. Since this tragic mistake of oxygen deprivation occurred, the incidence of cerebral palsy has skyrocketed.

Donald L. Jolly-Gabriel graduated with a BA from the University of New York and received his MA and Ph.D. from California Christian University. He studied under Dr. David Hughes at the Hyperbaric Institute in London and Scotland and was mentored by Dr. Richard Neubauer for 23 years.

Dr. Jolly established Oxygen Therapy Programs in Africa, Romania, the Philippines, Mexico and California.

He established and opened one of the largest HBOT centers at the Whitaker Wellness Center, for Hyperbaric Therapy, in Newport Beach, California.


Lea Kueppers-Tiedt, M.D.
Dr. Kuepper-Tiedt specializes in stroke and neurocritical care in medical studies at the University of Leizig. He also practices preclinical and clinical research in the field of HBOT and ischemic stroke.

Born in Duesseldorf, Germany, he studied at the University of Leipzig and graduated in 2001.


Dr Pierre MaroisPierre Marois MD FRCP(c)
Dr Pierre Marois is a pediatric physiatrist working at Ste-Justine University Hospital (Montreal), as well as in many rehabilitation centers in the province of Quebec.

He his responsible for the treatment of 1,500 children having the diagnosis of cerebral palsy, working with many rehabilitation teams in the province of Quebec. He has put together in 1982 the first dorsal rhizotomy clinic in North America, for the treatment of cerebral palsy. He is actively involved in researches and in the development of techniques for the treatment of handicapped children. He initiated and participated in the three studies that were completed in Canada on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Cerebral palsy and has lectured in many international meetings on that subject.


Dr. William Maxfield, M.D., FACNMWilliam Maxfield, M.D., FACNM
Dr. William Maxfield is Senior Medical Director of The HOC Hyperbaric Care Center. Dr. Maxfield started his medical career as a nuclear medicine technician at the Maxfield Clinic-Hospital in Dallas, Texas after completing training at the Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies in 1948.

During his service with the navy, Dr. Maxfield worked on the development of many nuclear medicine procedures that are routine today, including more than 1,000 positron brain scans. As a member of the Plutonium Decontamination Team, Dr. Maxfield was introduced to hyperbaric chambers and the field of hyperbaric medicine.

Dr. Maxfield is the author of 38 scientific publications, 2 short publications, 12 abstracts, 9 scientific exhibits and a video tape. His 45 years of clinical practice and research including 19 years of clinical hyperbaric medicine provide him a broad base of knowledge. His interest in clinical hyperbaric medicine resurfaced in the mid-1970s when he searched for assistance for his father-in-law who had developed speech and balance problems.

Dr. Maxfield is a member of a task force that has developed an international protocol for use of HBOT in acute stroke. He also initiated the use of HBOT for ataxia-telangectasia. Recently, Dr. Maxfield was also a member of the ethics task force in hyperbaric medicine.

Dr McDaniel is Director of Research at Fisher Institute for Medical Research and Director of Research at Wellness Quest, LLC. Dr. McDaniel has spent 20 years practicing anatomical & clinical pathology, including positions as the Director of Pathology & Laboratories and Director of Medical Education at Dallas-Ft Worth Medical Center. In 1981 he began research at Fisher Institute for Medical Research using a bean extract to stimulate the immune system.

In 1985, he aided in the work of scientists that had isolated the active principle of the Aloe Vera Plant, and conducted the first government-monitored studies in humans using this Glyconutrient, aloe polymannan and the results were without precedent. A key figure of Washington policymaking for more than two decades, Robert Moffit serves as Director of Heritages Center for Health Policy Studies. A former U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Deputy Assistant Secretary and a senior Office of Personnel Management official, he is responsible for coordinating Heritages research on health care reform, health insurance markets, state based health care initiatives, Medicare and Medicaid. Jane M. Orient obtained her undergraduate degrees in chemistry and mathematics from the University of Arizona in Tucson, and her M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1974. She completed an internal medicine residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital and University of Arizona Affiliated Hospitals and then became an Instructor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. She has been in solo private practice since 1981 and has served as Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) since 1989. Stephen D. Reimers, PE

He has well over 30 years experience as President/Owner of Reimers Consultants, Reimers Engineering, Inc., Reimers Systems, Inc., and Hyperbaric Clearinghouse, Inc. Projects have included several military and civilian hyperbaric and hypobaric multiplace installations in the US and abroad, as well as custom design and engineering applications. In recent years, typical projects have included numerous hospital and free standing hyperbaric facilities across the United States and overseas. Steve leads a team with nearly 100 years combined experience in various aspects of hyperbaric chambers.

Mr. Reimers is the published author of over 50 test reports and journal articles as well as 3 textbook chapters.

He received simultaneous MS and BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT in 1969. He also received the Professional of Naval Science Award (Academics) in 1969. He served as US Navy Qualified Salvage Diving Officer & Saturation Diving Officer and was Navy Qualified in SCUBA, Hardhat Diving Dress and Mark 10 Closed Circuit Underwater Breathing Apparatus. He is also senior lecturer for the Technical Aspects of Hyperbaric Chamber Safety Course since 1997 and for the Hyperbaric Chamber Safety Director's Course since 2001.

Dr. Stoller, MD, is President of the International Hyperbaric Medical Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics, a Diplomat of the American Board of Hyperbaric Medicine, and a member of the New Mexico Medical Society. He was University of California President's Undergraduate Fellow in the UCLA Medical Center's Department of Anesthesiology, and has almost two decades of clinical experience in pediatric medicine.

He was Chief Neurosurgical Resident in 1969 at Mt Sinai Hospital and then went to  California in the private practice of Neurological Surgery, founded the Spinal Cerebral Medical Group and was an Assistant Professor of Surgery for 16 years at UCI. Dr Sukoff continued his work in HBO that began in Mt Sinai Hospital .He has been Chief of Staff, Chief of Surgery, Director of the Hyperbaric Unit and Chief of the Shock Trauma Unit at Western Medical Center where he was Chief of Neurosurgery for more than 15 years. Dr. Sukoff has served on many Boards, including The California Association of Physicians (CANS).  Dr. Sukoff has published over 50 papers and written chapters for four books. His publications include surgical techniques, case histories, Hyperbaric Oxygen Research and clinical studies on its use for diseases of the central nervous system. He has lectured through the world on hyperbaric oxygen use for brain and spinal cord injuries and neurosurgery research and clinical studies. Currently he remains the Director of The Spinal Cerebral Medical Group.

Dr. Toole is Teagle Professor of Neurology and Director of the Stroke Research Center at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Prior to that, he was Editor, Journal of Neurological Sciences.

Dr. Toole has numerous honors and affiliations including Chair, Neuro-Pharmacologic Drugs Advisory Committee, FDA, Chairman, Program Committee, International Stroke Society, President, American Society of Neuroimaging, National Stroke Association Board of Directors, President, World Federation of Neurology and President, International Stroke Society.

He is the writer of numerous publications and is listed in Whos Who in the United States, in the World, in the World Business and in the World Medicine.


Keith Van Meter M.D.Keith Van Meter M.D.
From 1989 to present, Dr. Van Meter has served as the Chief of the Section of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the Medical Director of a 140-physician Emergency Medicine group in south Louisiana and Mississippi and has served as the Medical Director of the West Jefferson Medical Center multiplace Hyperbaric Medicine Unit and Wound Care Center since 2002. He has also served as the Medical Director of the Baromedical Research Institute Hyperbaric Laboratory in New Orleans, Louisiana since 1980. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine with subspecialty board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Dr. Van Meter served on a task force under Dr. Sam Poole and Dr. Norman McSwain to develop medical support planning for NASA for astronauts aboard a space station from 2000-2002. In his private practice, he has treated over 600 hundred commercial divers in the Gulf of Mexico who suffered from acute decompression sickness or arterial gas embolism. Dr. Van Meters primary research interest is the application of hyperbaric oxygen in the ACLS, PALS and ATLS in cardiopulmonary arrest utilizing a swine model.

Currently Professor of Neurosurgery and Chief of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Mnster, Dr. Wassman, born in Bonn, Germany, has been responsible for 320 original publications and printed lectures, 8 Scientific books or chapters of scientific books and 1 Handbook. He is a Member of the Executive Board at the German Neurosurgical society and is also active with Niederrheinische Society for Nature and Medicine, Society for Treatment of Cerebrovascular Diseases, Society of Friends and Promotors of the University of Bonn and the American College of HB Medicine. He was a spokesman of the convention of the neurosurgical professors of Germany in 2006. During the 1990s, Dr. Wassman was involved in experimental research of "brainprotective measurements" in transient intraoperative cerebral ischemia. Also imgage fusion and neuronavigation in brain tumor neurosurgery.

Darryl is currently Medical Director at Orange County Wound and Hyperbaric In Santa Ana, California. He specializes in Emergency Medicine, Pre-Hospital Care and Hyperbaric Medicine in Scuba Diving, Wound Healing and Carbon Monoxide.

Daryl is Board Certified with American Board of Emergency Medicine and received a B.S. from the University of California and an M.D. from the University of Southern California.
